Algonquin - Pog Lake – Campsite 431
This is a great campsite for those looking to use the boat launch or spend most of the time on the water exploring. There is a convenient little private trail/short cut that leads to the boat launch parking lot, small beach and the dry toilets. The small beach is sandy and has a nice shallow entrance which is good for the kids. Although, the larger beach in Pog Lake is way sunnier and more spacious for swimming and is my preference. pictured above is a private trail to one of the dry washroom stations a cute visitor beautiful pine trees overhead provide plenty of shade The campsite The site itself is large and fairly flat without any major slopes. It provides plenty of distance between campsites for privacy. The pine forest around is pretty lovely to wander through and you can walk to the edge of the river. It’s not the best for entering the water, but some spots are safe enough that you can launch your boat from there and not have to go to the park’s boat launch. Here is ...
